The Creek & The Cave. 10-93 Jackson Ave, LIC.

The Creek & The Cave is a performance space slash bar slash restaurant in Long Island City. Yes, there are cool things to do in Queens. I came out here to watch Donald Glover, the dude from Community, do his rap thing. It was an interesting show and he definitely packed the place. When you come in theres a performance space to the left, or you can head to the right into the restaurant area, or you can head downstairs to the bar area or back patio. If youre in the area, the food is good and the cover for shows is like $5 most times. But then again, if youre in the area looking for a drink, youd be better off going to Dutch Kills. The bathroom here is unisex and single stall. Double fail. But its pretty big and not too busy. Its all the way downstairs and to the left. I give it 3 flushes.

P.S.1. 22-25 Jackson Ave (LIC).

The last weekend in July a group of my girlfriends and I headed over to Long Island City to check out P.S. 1, a space used by MoMA to display very experimental art and have events. We went to check out a DJ set by the guys in Animal Collective. I guess the place was used as a school and so the bathrooms are old school bathrooms. They are unisex, the only thing dividing the urinal from the sink is a little partition. I think the sinks are pretty sweet but other than that nothing special. My one complaint was the super long line, despite there being at least 4 bathrooms (1 on each floor). But it was sorta clean considering the amount of people. I give it 3 flushes. (check out a few pics of the art, after the jump below)

Dutch Kills. (27-24 Jackson Ave, Long Island City)

I almost don’t want to tell you where this place is so you guys don’t ruin it. Its probably one of my favorite places on Earth. Yes, the whole planet. Lucky for us, nobody reads this blog so I’m gonna go ahead with it. Its out in the middle of nowhere, but really just 2 stops out from the city, into Long Island City. That’s all Im gonna say. Words cant express the awesomeness. The bathroom is right between the booth area and the actual bar. Its single stall, but there’s hardly ever a rush plus its big and they have linen napkins. Its basically heaven.

like, omg Im not doing a peace sign.
