Death & Co. 433 E 6th Street (btwn 1st and Ave A)
This place is kind of a big deal. Allow me to summarize: At this years Tales of the Cocktail, an annual event that brings together the best people in cocktail culture, Death & Co. won the prestigious awards of Best American Cocktail Bar and World’s Best Cocktail Menu. This isnt just NYC or the USA. This is a huge international community comprised of the best in the world, from LA to...

Burp Castle. 41 E 7th Street (btwn 2nd & 3rd Ave)...
We first went to this bar after we saw it on an episode of Three Sheets. They have a good selection of beer, or so I’m told. I’m not a big beer drinker. I did have a strawberry flavored beer there recently that was very good though. The bar is kind of small and the lighting is dark. You might notice the weird mural on the wall with drunken monks and naked ladies. My husband can’t stop staring at...

Central Park Bathroom. W 69th Street Entrance.
Forgive this lackluster bathroom update. Listen you guys, by now you must know that they cant all be winners. And if you dont know, now you know. So last weekend I was hanging at the park with some bros. After drinking a gallon of sangria it was time to hike to a bathroom. Central Park is beautiful and amazing in so many ways, one of which is the ability to conceal bathrooms behind Au Bon Pains....

Taco Taco. 1726 2nd Ave (btwn 89th and 90th)
Yes, another Mexican restaurant. I like Mexican food. I think we’ve discussed this. This restaurant is the very first restaurant I went to the day I moved into my apartment late last year. I loved it that night and its only gotten better since. The food is fresh and the drinks are good. Last time I went Judah Friedlander was there with a hot chick! When you come in, keep walking past the...

Comedy Cellar. 117 McDougal Street (btwn W 3rd...
Two rules I learned the hard way about comedy clubs: 1. Dont arrive late. 2. Dont go to the bathroom mid show. The first time I came here back in like 2005, Colin Quinn totally made fun of me for walking past the stage. I dont remember what was said, my humiliated self probably blocking it out, but this past time I did have a laugh at the expense of many other unwitting people. So dont be that...

Bathroom Buddies
I’m not the only person that comes across cool or unusual bathrooms in awesome places. Since starting up this blog Ive gotten a few buddies to document some bathrooms and write up their thoughts on them. Starting soon I’m going to be putting those up on Mondays. I’m also asking you guys to send ideas to CourtesyFlushMo@gmail.com
You know how girls always go to the bathroom in...

Pianos. 158 Ludlow Street (at Stanton)
$3 for a pint. On a Saturday. Thats a pretty good deal. And it’ll have you heading downstairs to check out the bathrooms after a handful of rounds. Theres something not quite right about the bathroom. Im not sure if its the tiny size or the 110 degree heat in them, but something made me feel like I needed to barely wash my hands and just get back upstairs. Maybe thats their strategy. No...

Dutch Kills. (27-24 Jackson Ave, Long Island City)
I almost don’t want to tell you where this place is so you guys don’t ruin it. Its probably one of my favorite places on Earth. Yes, the whole planet. Lucky for us, nobody reads this blog so I’m gonna go ahead with it. Its out in the middle of nowhere, but really just 2 stops out from the city, into Long Island City. That’s all Im gonna say. Words cant express the...

Lombardi's Pizza. 32 Spring Street (btwn Mott &...
I actually heard a lady tell the hostess “We have a flight to catch in 3 hours but we had to stop here before heading to the airport”. I don’t know what kind of stupid tradition this knucklehead and her family have, or maybe she was told she HAD TO eat there by some “friend”, but I secretly hope she missed her flight. I’m not a pizza connoisseur or even a fan,...

White Castle. 781 Metropolitan Ave. Brooklyn, NY
I dont think I really need to say too much about White Castle. Its cheap. There’s not too much variety so its easy to order. Its good after drinking or for breakfast (which happen simultaneously sometimes). And they open late and sometimes 24 hours a day. Its perfection. To get into this bathroom you have to be buzzed in by someone, probably preventing pukers and other riff-raff from...

Somewhere near 13th Street and 1st Ave
Stumbled upon this awesome plant stand/toilet/bike rack on my travels this past Saturday night.

Bowery Ballroom. 6 Delancy Street (btwn Bowery &...
Sometimes I feel a little uncool taking pics, not just IN the bathroom but OF the bathroom. Certain places are more private or less busy so its easier, but then there’s places like the Bowery Ballroom, which remind me of the girls bathroom closest to the cafeteria in between 2nd and 3rd period: judgmental eyes, pretty girls, long lines. So that’s my explanation for my lack of pics. We...

Cafe El Portal. 174 Elizabeth Street (btwn Spring...
I’m a fan of Mexican food, in case you haven’t figured that out. This is a good place to take a date that you want to get really sweaty and stuffed with affordable Mexican food and sangria, which should be every date, if you ask me. Walking past this place on my way to the Bowery Ballroom, I had to stop and peek into the dungeon like dining room. I’m glad I did. Bathroom is...
